Community Involvement

November, 2020: For the second year in a row, Rick Dehner and his office staff volunteered their time to fill and deliver more than 330 bags of food and snacks for the Weekend Backpack Program benefitting the Lawton-Bronson, Kingsley-Pierson, and Woodbury Central school systems for the month of November. Each week, students within these three districts benefit from personal contributions and donations made by local organizations to purchase the snacks, which are then packed by area volunteers. Kim Petersen, coordinator for the Weekend Backpack Program, said the number of students participating in the program has grown from last year, and continues to change on a weekly basis. Staff members assisting Dehner in the efforts include Associate Financial Representatives Jan Dehner and Brenda Groves, a Lawton, Iowa resident.
